Snowmobiling

At the beginning of January Aaliyah started a preschool/playgroup. Every Tuesday the moms take turns teaching the kids at their house. We have 7 kids altogether, 5 girls and 2 boys between the age of 3 and 4. It has worked out really well and I am so thankful for my friend thinking of such a great idea and setting it all up for us! The last Tuesday of each month we do a field trip and this month we did snowmobiling. One of the mom's family owns snowmobiles and they even have little kid snowmobiles that they can drive. Aaliyah was a little nervous about the whole thing, but towards the end I got her more comfortable with the idea and she even started driving it on her own a little. I had to be on the back of the kid snowmobile while she was driving it to help her feel a little more secure which was a pretty funny site. I looked like an adult on a tricycle!

Here's one of the kid snowmobiles. When Aaliyah is sitting on it it doesn't look that small. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the moms sitting on them! I got some video of it, but my computer is too slow and won't download the video properly.

This picture shows the size of the kid snowmobiles better. The little boy driving the it is my friend's nephew. He's 4 years old and drives these things like he is a pro. It was quite cute to watch him drive all the kids around!

A Beautiful Day For Hiking

Last Monday, on Martin Luther King Day, Dallas had work off so we took advantage of the nice weather and went hiking up the canyon. Our plan was to ski down after we were done hiking, but the girls were having so much fun sledding that I ended up sledding down with them the whole way.

Dallas definitely had the heavier load going up. Aaliyah and Adeline are in the Chariot that he is pulling up!

Here's my nice light load.

Dallas started to get worn out so I offered to switch him. I only pulled them for about fifteen minutes and then I was done and let me tell you my legs were sore the next day! I don't know how he pulled them all that way. I obviously need to get back into shape!

They have it so easy!

Cute little Clowee.

Brody had fun chasing us down the whole time we were sledding. On the way down Dallas decided to go off a jump with the Chariot hooked on behind him. He completely flipped the Chariot over and everything inside of it went flying out. I'm glad that our girls weren't in it, although he says he wouldn't have been so reckless if they would have been there! Needless to say we have to get the Chariot fixed now, one of the bars bent on it. I really wish I would have gotten a picture of it though!

Dallas's Birthday

Dallas's Birthday was about a week ago. He decided he wanted to stay home and spend time with the girls instead of going out to celebrate, so we made him dinner and a birthday cake and just hung out.

Aaliyah was so excited to make her dad a birthday card!

I don't know if you can see it, but yes Dallas does have a black eye in this picture and no I did not give it to him. Although everyones' first reaction is, "Dallas did your wife beat you?" During sacrament meeting our bishop got up to announce that we have a marriage and family relations class that anyone is welcome to attend and that from looking at Dallas's eye he would suggest that we should consider attending it. The whole congregation just started laughing and of course I went bright red. You have to know our bishop, he's a pretty funny guy!

Aaliyah's in Primary!

At the beginning of January, Aaliyah went to Primary for the first time! She is growing up way too fast! That's why you've got to enjoy every moment you have with your little ones, well not every moment, but most of them!

New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve we went up to my sister-in-law, Danae's cabin and went sledding. Dallas's sister, Amy, and her family came into town so it was really good to see them all! Aaliyah wasn't too thrilled about going sledding which surprised me because last year she loved it, but we slowly eased her back into it

Here she is pouting.

She finally decided she would try it with her cousin, Trevor and had a ball!

She even started pulling the sled up the hill by herself.

So here's Aunt Danae helping Aaliyah go down the sled by herself.

Aaliyah starts going down sideways.....

and runs into a tree. Where's the video camera when you need it!?

Adeline even went sledding, but I don't think she liked it much. I think her snowsuit was a little big for her so she couldn't move around or walk that well.

Christmas

The excitement of Christmas was a lot of fun this year! Aaliyah really grasped the concept of Santa Clause this year and it was so cute to watch her excitement! On Christmas Eve we pulled out the manger scene and let Aaliyah place the figurines in their places while we read the story of Christ's birth out of the bible. I was impressed, she knew all of their names and who they were. That night we let them open one gift which was their princess pajamas. I couldn't get them off of Aaliyah for days! And once I had to take them off because they were dirty there was a big fit involved.

Adeline loves to put dress-ups on so when she opened this we had to put it on her right away.

At the end of opening presents, as you can see, Adeline had had it! I think the mess of it all overwhelmed her a little.

Aaliyah's Birthday

Aaliyah just had her third birthday on Monday. My little girl is growing up way too fast! In Oakley every year they have the tradition of sleigh riding down Christmas Street and seeing Santa Clause. This year it fell on Aaliyah's birthday so we thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate. She thought Santa came special for her birthday and to this day she is telling me that "it was the best birthday ever!"

Both of them were scared of Santa that night which surprised me because just the week before we saw Santa at Dallas's work party and Aaliyah went running up to him, but there was a little girl ahead of us that was screaming when she was on Santa's lap so I think that made Aaliyah a little nervous.

So I took one for the team on this picture. I look awful, but everyone else looks good! Besides I had to show a picture of us on the sleigh ride.

I think Adeline was just as excited as Aaliyah was about opening presents!

I love how little kids have to really concentrate to hold their fingers up. It actually does take some coordination.

I'm three!

Here's Aaliyah and her friend Kaylee. They are the cutest little girls!

Addie is enjoying her cupcake!
